About me

My name is Julia Ligia Manastireanu and my interest in counselling started eighteen years ago while studying for my Psychology degree. After being introduced to different counselling approaches (REBT, the psychodynamic approach and humanistic approaches) I chose to deepen the Person-centred approach as I find it flexible in providing the right support for you as an individual.

I am experienced and passionate in supporting people who struggle with relationship issues and the individuals/couples that approached me about their problems found me open and easy to talk to. In the past I worked with parents around child related issues and coping with loss/change as part of the Peri-Natal Depression Service offered through The Tom Allan Centre in Glasgow.

I started my Private Practice in January 2011 and since 2012 I have also been working as part of the Acute Mental Health Team at the Priory Hospital, where I am now a senior therapist.

I am an accredited and registered member of BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and abide to their Code of Ethics and Good Practice in Counselling.
